Däckverket acquires HB Däck in Umeå
Däckverket announces that on May 27, 2025, the company completed the acquisition of HB Däck Br Bång AB, located in Umeå, Västerbotten County. With this acquisition, Däckverket strengthens its strong position in Norrland and establishes itself in one of Sweden’s many dynamic regional hubs where academia, business, and entrepreneurship work together to create a foundation for growth.
HB Däck
Harry Bång, who founded HB Däck back in 1983, is still actively involved in the business. Brothers Fredrik and Kristoffer Bång have worked at the shop since childhood and have been running it for about 10 years. The facility in Ersboda offers all types of tire services, as well as a full-service auto repair shop. HB Däck is the largest in Umeå in terms of the number of passenger car customers.
Umeå is one of Sweden’s fastest-growing cities and serves as a dynamic hub for innovation, education, and business in northern Sweden. The city has a strong academic profile through Umeå University and a growing technology sector, while also boasting a long tradition in industry and forestry.
